Accompanied by several leaders, the 19th Maidenhead YLs set off last night on a 3.5km hike around Cookham Golf course. It was their first hike with their new rucksacks and they did well at keeping a strong pace of around 5km/h with a chilly wind.
They put their practiced navigation skills to good use in the dark, taking turns to lead the party to the next checkpoint on the route.
In January, the leaders went away on a canal boat together to give us a chance to sort out the next term’s and future camps’ programmes, as well as to have an enjoyable time together without having to worry about 8 year olds climbing along the side of the boat!
