The Cubs had a great weekend on Robinson Crusoe island, also known as Dorneywood, near Burnham Beeches.
Having built their shelters they started by making maps of the island and making darts to help them catch their food. They then had to make their way through the deep forest swinging across ravines and climbing over cliffs while all the while trying to avoid the giant ants.
Back at camp they had to learn how to build fires so that they could cook dinner, both main course and cake.
On Sunday, their task was to walk to Egypt. They moved quickly and were back in time for lunch after which they were taken blindfolded to a secret location where they were attacked by the natives resulting in a fight to the death (or at least to being drenched in water. After taking their shelters down it was time to head back home to recuperate for another day’s adventuring.
Pictures to follow.
