American Independence party and AGM 2010
On the 4th July we had our annual general meeting and American Independence Day party.
We had burgers cooked on the BBQ and a game of baseball followed by the AGM itself.
Cub Summer Camp
The Cubs had a great weekend on Robinson Crusoe island, also known as Dorneywood, near Burnham Beeches.
Having built their shelters they started by making maps of the island and making darts to help them catch their food. They then had to make their way through the deep forest swinging across ravines and climbing over cliffs while all the while trying to avoid the giant ants.
Back at camp they had to learn how to build fires so that they could cook dinner, both main course and cake.
American Independance Day Party
THe 19th Maidenhead Scout Group will be celebrating American Independance Day at Mowers Meadow Campsite , Strande Lane Cookham on July 4th. THe fun starts at 12pm with our AGM held at 1:00pm.
Parents are requested to attend.
Summer Term 2010 Start Dates
Summer 2010 term start dates are as following:
Scouts: Wednesday 21st April
Cubs: Monday 26th April
Beavers: Tuesday 27th April
Leaders attend LIMA
This year 2 leaders from the 19th, Siobhan and Jonathan, attended LIMA – Leadership in Mountaineering Activites.
On the Saturday they climbed Snowdon and on Sunday practiced micro-navigation.
The weather was fantastic, although the snow on the ground made it a different experience.
