Kenyan Scouts Expedition

You may remember that a few months ago we held a jumble sale in aid of some Scouts who Sue Hardman met in Kenya. I am pleased to say that in part thanks to our fundraising efforts, the Scouts were able to go camping. I have attached their expedition report.

Thank you very much to all those who helped make this possible, particularly Sue, Vicki and many others in the group.

District Night Hike 2008

Ten scouts this year baved freezing temperatures to take part in the Annual District Night Hike this weekend. This was one of the highest turnouts by members of the 19th for many years. We were able to put 2 teams (Normally we struggle to have 4 scouts).

The route centred on Cookham with our start point been on Cookham Dean Common. Challenges included Racing remote controlled cars round a track – blindfolded; Lighting a candle from 10 feet away using poles; Measuring hieght and distatnce of three points; Sheep pen challenge and many others.

As always thanks have to go to the adults who gave up a nights sleep provide the necessary back up and support.

The Results 19thA came 2nd and 19th B came 17th=.
